Our 1st 4th of July in California

Yes, that's right! We've lived here 3 years and this is our first 4th of July in California. Here's a little glimpse of what we did and what we should consider doing DIFFERENTLY next time :). Thanks to my friend Christina we got some really cute shots of our rosey-cheeked kids at the Claremont City Parade.

Our Cute Jadey Bug!

Our little family! Someone remind me next time NOT to wear horizontal stripes! It was the only red, white, and blue shirt that I had :(
.
Just a little FYI to everyone: DO NOT...DO NOT...DO NOT go to Newport Beach on the 4th of July and expect to find parking-TRUST US!!! We thought we'd get there early in the morning to find a parking spot and beat the crowds....WHAT WERE WE THINKING!!! After driving around for 2 HOURS...yes....2 HOURS...we did not even see 1 spot open up! It was sad, but kind of funny that we were that dumb! Tia and I ended up dropping Jayden and Dad off while we drove around, and around, and around and eventually found a yummy donut shop! The donuts sure made me feel better! We'll definitely eat there again!
.
We also had a few families and the missionaries over for dinner that night! It was a lot of fun! We'll definitely do that again also!

You are brave!! We almost took the train down to the beach this year to see the fireworks, but our little one got sick that night, so put a damper on the plans...maybe next year! Your kids are adorable!! So fun to see what you guys are up to! -Lori
