Laundry

For those of you that read my "Husband Tag"...I just want you to know that I DID the laundry today(that's right...I do it too sometimes :) and this is what it looked like:

I've definitely gotten some strange looks from the neighbors. But, how else do I get Tia over to the laundry room while I'm pushing this?...and of course Jayden won't walk when Tia gets to ride inside! Don't I just love laundry days...well...at least my kids do!

Shane's Week Off

Here's a little bit of what we did while Shane had the week off:

Ate our 1st Peach from our Peach Tree :) Yum Yum!!!

Went to the Aquarium of the Pacific with our Parent-tot class for $1 per person-sweet deal!

Then Shane's family came for a visit:

Cool side note: Out of 42,000 people... Shane, Jayden, and I made it on the big screen at the game. I had Jayden on my shoulders and we were dancing like crazy Dodger fans.

We had an awesome week, but now we are EXHAUSTED!!! I don't think we've done this much in months! It was a BLAST having Shane's family here for a few days!

Our 5.4 Earthquake

As you probably heard we experienced a 5.4 earthquake today. We are all doing okay! Our house shook pretty bad and everything was rattling really loud. I turned to run into the kid's room and I could see my walls and bookshelf swaying-it was crazy! I grabbed Tia out of her crib and ran outside (Jayden was out running errands with Shane). Luckily only one thing fell down in our house(a little painted block that was on top of our bookshelf-see picture-I know it's silly, but I like to always post a picture with my entry) and a few pictures were crooked. We are really lucky nothing else happened!

30 is the NEW 20....right?!!

So...I turned the BIG 3-0 this month! What a fabulous age! I'm loving it!

I had another awesome birthday! I spent it with those I love most (my sweet husband and two adorable kids)! Jayden thought it was so cool that it was HIS MOM's birthday. He's still building me cakes out of wood chips (outside) and putting sticks in them for me to blow out! What a cutie!

Here's what we did in a nutshell...croissant roll-french toast breakfast-YUMMY, a fun day playing with my kids, phone calls from my family & friends, getting frozen yogurt together as a family before the kids went to bed, eating at BENIHANA'S--FABULOUS!, and a SURPRISE new camera-YEAH-now I just need to learn how to use it!

Shane caught me getting mad at my new camera the other day and reminded me that it wasn't the camera but the one holding it that didn't know what they were doing...DOH! I love you Shane, thanks for always pulling me back to reality! So...any tips you all (Tanya, Clare, Christina, Collette, Jaime, Byron, Dad, and everyone else that I forgot to mention) might have PLEASE send them my way!

Anyways...I just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of my 30 year old friends and to those who will be turning 30 this year (Audrie, Jaime, Sonnie, etc.). What a wonderful age...we are in our prime! Love you all tons!!!

Happy Birthday Casey!

Today my nephew Casey turned 4!!! Look how cute he is! He's the sweetest kid you'll ever meet! He's very soft and quiet spoken, but he knows how to stick up for himself (thanks to his two older brothers). Casey loves his little cousin Tia. His older brothers know that to make him mad all they have to say is "MY baby Tia" and he gets all upset because Tia is HIS baby Tia! Casey we love you, Happy Birthday!

Husband Tag

I've been 'Husband Tagged' by my friend Tara. Here goes...

What is his name? Shane Jay Andrews, aka Shane, hun, sweetie, dad, and sometimes 'bud' and 'buddy' by accident...oops!

How did you meet? We met on a side walk at the MTC...NOT as missionaries, but as TEACHERS :)

Our 1st date: For our first date Shane invited me to a play at the Hale Theater in Orem, Utah. He was so nervous he forgot to tell me NOT to dress formal to the play (because the Hale Theater is a very kicked back theater) that he called me a BUNCH of times that week to tell me that I DID NOT need to dress up. My roommates and I thought it was so funny that he kept reminding me that we decided I should get all dressed up, so this is what I looked like when he came that night...

Don't you just love the sleeves! There's also a HUGE bow on my hip. Thanks Shanna(my older sister) for the sweet early 90's dress! It sure helped break up the awkwardness of a first date. We had a blast and were very comfortable with each other after that. Don't worry...I didn't go into public wearing this!

How long did we date? 10 months

Who said I love you first? I'm sure that I thought it first, but held off until HE said it.

Who is taller? Shane...except for when I wear high heels.

Who can sing better? Definitely Shane! He's GREAT at it!

Who is smarter? SHANE! He works so hard at everything he does and excels in school! I am so proud of him! But, I do think I am a little more street smart than he is :)

Who does the laundry? Probably Shane :( If we had our own laundry room I think I would, but it's hard to haul both the kids and the laundry over to the laundry room, plus I always ruin or shrink something of his when I do it.

Who does the dishes? Both...maybe a little more me! But, I think maybe Shane puts them away more!

Who mows the lawn? If we had our own grass Shane and Jayden would both be doing it. They can't wait!

Jayden LOVES doing everything just like his dad.

Who drives? Shane, I hate driving in the crazy California traffic. I'm always the slowest one on the road (even though I'm going over the speed limit). I have to admit, I do TELL Shane HOW to drive when he's driving...he doesn't like that too much!

Who kissed who first? Shane...although I'd wanted to kiss him forever I was trying to be lady like and let him do it first. It happened one night in my parents driveway and Shane still swears my mom saw the whole thing.

Who proposed? Shane did on an absolutely beautiful day in Sundance, Utah.

We went to show my brother Rick just after Shane proposed.

Who is more stubborn? I'd say it's a TIE, but then again...it's probably me!

Who is more sensitive? Me, but Shane does have a sensitive side...I love it!

Who wears the pants? Sometimes it's me, sometimes it's Shane,...and sometimes it's Jayden :( , but we're putting our foot down on that last one.

Happy Birthday Ginger!

TODAY is my sister-in-law's birthday. Isn't she gorgeous...and isn't baby Weston just a doll! Ginger is amazing! She is in her 4th year of Dental School at USC (which means they live only 45 minutes from us-yeah!) and just had a baby 6 months ago. She is a VERY dedicated student, and an AWESOME mom! Ginger, we love you...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Our 1st 4th of July in California

Yes, that's right! We've lived here 3 years and this is our first 4th of July in California. Here's a little glimpse of what we did and what we should consider doing DIFFERENTLY next time :). Thanks to my friend Christina we got some really cute shots of our rosey-cheeked kids at the Claremont City Parade.

Just a little FYI to everyone: DO NOT...DO NOT...DO NOT go to Newport Beach on the 4th of July and expect to find parking-TRUST US!!! We thought we'd get there early in the morning to find a parking spot and beat the crowds....WHAT WERE WE THINKING!!! After driving around for 2 HOURS...yes....2 HOURS...we did not even see 1 spot open up! It was sad, but kind of funny that we were that dumb! Tia and I ended up dropping Jayden and Dad off while we drove around, and around, and around and eventually found a yummy donut shop! The donuts sure made me feel better! We'll definitely eat there again!

We also had a few families and the missionaries over for dinner that night! It was a lot of fun! We'll definitely do that again also!

Mom, HELP ME...(part 2)

I wanted to add these pictures to go with my last post. I thought they were hilarious because this is how our life is. I ABSOLUTELY love our kids, but I decided that I don't think we'll get very many good pictures of our kids TOGETHER (how do you all do it?)...this is what happens every time I try. It starts out good... ...but then...

...and then....

...it ends like this... This was all in less than one or two minutes. Can you tell that he just hit her, and is thinking about doing it AGAIN. This is where we stopped taking pictures!

So.... I apologize now if I post very few pictures of our kids TOGETHER:(...it's just not fair to poor little Tia!

Mom, HELP ME!!!

I just love this picture because it shows what Tia goes through EVERY DAY. To me the picture makes Jayden look like a sweet, innocent, older brother just hugging his sister, BUT...if you look at Tia's face (especially her eyes) you can see that she is bracing herself for a tackle, a tight squeeze (look at his hand on her shoulder), or a headlock. Jayden loves her so much that he doesn't know what to do about it, and I think he just really wants someone to wrestle with. All in all Tia ABSOLUTELY ADORES Jayden to death. Shane and I still can't get Tia to laugh at us like she does at her brother Jayden. We love you Jayden!
